In some
parts of Belgium, St. Martin’s Day is celebrated on November 11th.
It usually marks the beginning of the period of fasting before Christmas. Children and their parents gather around a hot drink (mulled wine for the adults) with handmade paper lanterns in hand.

I was absolutely freezing but the beautiful lights (and the satsuma’s) made it all worth it.
Have a
lovely weekend,

What gorgeous photos. I think I would love this celebration... although I wouldn't love the fasting until Christmas part. Yikes!

ReplyDeleteThis is so simple, yet so stunning. What a beautiful evening!

SO beautiful. And the handmade lanterns are seriously impressive. I think the snowflakes I made today might be looking a little lackluster now. xo
