I hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends and that Santa brought you everything you asked for.

I think you may already know from my last post that I love to visit castles. Last Monday, I went to the Modave Castle (Château de Modave) to visit this year’s Christmas decorations. Every year, the castle becomes this enchanted fairy tale place where I would love to celebrate Christmas!

We ate a delicious meal at the castle with fresh and typical food from the Ardennes region and had cinnamon ice cream (my favorite!) for dessert… A magical day!

I almost forgot about these pictures!

Back in October, we had an Indian Summer with lots of beautiful and warm weather (20° C/ 68°F).
Leaves just started changing colors and we picked our first pears in the orchards.

On a Monday morning we decided to go to the Annevoie Castle and gardens. The gardens were created in 1758 by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier and are the result of French strictness and English imagination brought together.

We ended the day with a ‘croque monsieur’ and homemade apple pie made with vegetables and fruits from the garden. I also bought a couple pumpkins to decorate my front door.

Every time I visit a castle, I can’t help but play ‘Marie-Antoinette’ by Sofia Coppola in my head. Sadly, there wasn’t a Ladurée nearby…


I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I can’t believe that it will be Christmas in less than two weeks!
